Bookkeeper (consultancy), Coalition for Responsible Home Education
The Coalition for Responsible Home Education empowers homeschooled children by educating the public and advocating for child-centered, evidence-based policy and practices for families and professionals. Celebrating our tenth anniversary in 2023, CRHE is the only organization run by homeschool alumni that advocates for homeschooled children. Over the past decade, CRHE has generated over 300 media mentions, published two peer-reviewed academic studies, contributed to legislative reform of homeschooling in two states, and received nearly half a million unique visitors annually to its website. Long staffed by volunteers, CRHE has recently grown its budget and is in the process of converting most of its program and operations work to paid staff and contracting positions.
CRHE seeks to hire an experienced accountant on a contract basis for 3-5 hours of QuickBooks bookkeeping per month. The accountant will take over this work from a team of volunteers; CRHE has now outgrown this system and is ready to transition to professional bookkeeping. The bookkeeper will work under the supervision of the Executive Director and will interface regularly with the Board Treasurer and Finance Committee, particularly during the transition period.
CRHE is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to creating a diverse, inclusive working environment for all employees and volunteers. Persons of color, persons with disabilities, women, LGBTQ+, and members of other historically underprivileged groups are encouraged to apply. Individuals with lived experience as homeschool alumni are especially strong candidates for this position
